Couldn’t agree more!

I worry about De Joy and USPS as well. The guy is a sleaze, in the bag for Trump. What he is still doing there is beyond me. I had thought him long gone by now.

That too. Did a piece on that last week.

Harris will have to force them to do it.

Exactly.

I don’t have a whole of confidence either unless Harris presses the issue hard. We have already lost enough with it in force.

Agreed. Long past time. Another anachronism designed to foster minority power in the political system.

And the Electoral College!!

The entire process with rules and regulations is due for a 21st century overhaul.

I have heard that certain states still have laws from the 18th century in place were ie a man is not permitted to beat his wife in public on Sundays.....

It’s absolutely crucial. Without ending the filibuster, NOTHING will get done, much less the urgent reforms to SCOTUS, bolstering voting rights, and passing the No Kings Act.

If the Democrats have a trifecta and they don’t nuke the filibuster, they’ve only put off the fascist dictatorship, and—rest assured—Project 2029 will be waiting in the wings as our reward for their failure.

(I don’t have a lot of confidence that they’ll do the right thing.)

Yes yes yes!!

I don't think Schumer has the balls.

He isn't even putting President Biden's 3 nominees to the USPS Board of Governors up for a Senate confirmation hearing.

I wondered about this. DeJoy has made a mess of the USPS. His ultimate act of betrayal is yet to come: slowing or stopping mail-in votes this November. Just wait and see where this occurs.

Val Demings is one of the nominees. A better person can not be found.

I don’t have much confidence in Schumer or Durbin doing the right/smart thing. Eliminating the filibuster would give senate races more urgency and meaning and it would force the parties to actually pursue their stated agenda instead of hiding behind the filibuster like the GOP did for years on abortion. Imagine if they had passed a nationwide abortion ban during Trump’s first two years. I think both parties would be much more serious about their agenda if the bar was far lower for achieving it.

And, of course, well thought out and well presented.
