Why Musk Isn’t Reined In
In a word, Trump can’t rein him in because Putin doesn’t want him reined in
Multiple reports are that virtually all of Trump’s cabinet secretaries are fed up with Musk, his stooges and his wildly careening chainsaw. It is becoming clear that, incompetent as they are, they’ve figured out that their departments cannot function with indiscriminate firings. Musk has offered ALL HHS employees $25,000 to retire. This would prompt a series of public health catastrophes that would exceed COVID in their long term impact.
The cabinet secretaries also have figured out that they and not Musk will be blamed for any ensuing disasters. And there will be plenty. Already Musk has begun talking about eliminating “fraud and abuse” (of which there is virtually none) from Social Security by taking people off the rolls.
Trump is playing with fire, especially since he is now singing the fraud and abuse song along with Musk. The head of Social Security has resigned and been replaced by a Musk acolyte. We will see more of that.
The question the cabinet secretaries will have to face is how they will manage their departments without highly skilled staff and if they will be blamed for what goes wrong. The answer is, short of resignation, they will be blamed, along with Trump.
Musk is universally despised. One can only wonder what Trump really thinks of him. What we know is that his $350 billion net worth notwithstanding, he is a nasty, immature and ignorant man-child. Just the sort of person Putin would foist on Trump to destroy the American government. The fact that it is working, and that Trump is purposefully tanking the economy and making enemies of all of our friends seals the unholy deal.
Trump isn’t even pretending anymore. He is bragging about the firings, bragging about his tariffs and admitting that there may be a recession later in the year. By now, many of the idiots who voted him in must be realizing they were badly hoodwinked.
So what happens next? The best guess is that this will continue unabated. Trump will make a show of reining in Musk to placate his cabinet, and Musk will continue has if nothing has happened. There will be resignations and the new secretaries are quite possibly going to be Musk employees.
This is unsustainable, and the only means of stopping it is broad based boycotts, shutting down cities and engaging in increasingly vocal and aggressive civil disobedience. At this rate, we won’t make it to the 2026 elections. Again, I know that many have given up on the idea dea of further elections. If we want to believe that, we might as well give up now, because we are surrendering in advance.
Back to Trump, Musk and Putin. From their own mouths, we know that both of these monsters are admirers of the Russian dictator. What Trump is doing is giving aid and comfort to a self-described adversary. That is one of the definitions of treason. At what point do Congressional Republicans raise the white flag and act? When millions of unemployed descend on their heads, when planes begin to crash and ships collide, when we can no longer predict storms and people die needlessly, when all of our allies desert us, or even when millions of people die because the deranged Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is in charge of the world’s largest health apparatus?
Some will say none of this will matter. I don’t believe that. Any combination of things will shock the conscience of millions and activate the urge for survival. This will put unimaginable pressure on this gang of criminals. If they decide to shoot at people or cancel elections, there will be a reaction. States, which run elections, will resist any effort to impose martial law. So will many in the military refuse an order to enforce it.
Trump and Musk are overreaching in their zeal to placate Putin. This is the worst possible time to give up. We have in our hands the ability to make life miserable for these people and we owe it to those who are already fighting back to join and help them. If we fail to do so, we alone will be responsible for surrendering our freedoms.
Fighting back is the only means of bringing Trump to justice by the only avenue left us: impeachment. We need to make sure Republican congresspeople realize they cannot be re-elected with 40% of the voting population, the sick and twisted people that are cheering on Trump and Musk. We are now, with Trump’s latest actions almost two-thirds of the people population. Let’s behave like we are the majority and turn on the heat. We have the support of millions of veterans, among others. And there will be more. We can do this, because we have to.
Public revolt on a mass scale.
Don’t look at that way. He is giving us an opportunity to fight back with people behind us.
