You're right about the trade sanctions, but we need to be attacked by NATO. I want to be attacked by NATO. Congress is starting to shift, but this is an emergency. It's not a time for small and careful steps.
The issue with the EU is that, much like Democratic leadership, they continue to pretend the midterms will solve the "Trump problem".
This is delusional. At best, we're a rogue nation, and should be dealt with, accordingly.
Until the EU acts collectively vs issuing strongly worded statements, I remain skeptical that the EU will stem the calamity quickly spreading from the US to the rest of the world.
You see this too, midterms, if they even happen, are being manipulated, trump knows he can’t win, thus, he’s F’d, so he has nothing to lose by doing WHATEVER to stay in power. This should cause the Democrats to ALSO DO WHATEVER to get his regime OUT of power.
I wonder if “disobey unlawful orders” would be honored by the guys who actually can push “the button”. Seems like not too many people I’ve observed even want to talk about it, as if kicking it down the road again will make it go away. We also know the mf’s standing behind the guys hovering over said button are completely off the chain . If no one felt the need during the illegal invasion of Venezuela, I think Mark Kelly is taking a bullet for what’s clearly a lost cause. We will see.
(At this point we’ve seen their response to reality, it does not bode well. As an old boomer, I do not respond well when I see the phrase “go nuclear” used meaning just doing something worse than whatever the last thing was.)
Yes to just about everything. I think Trump would be happy to be thrown out of NATO, because he'd simply add it to his "everybody's against me" mantra. Poor old Donald is so mistreated. /s
I'm nowhere near an expert in foreign policy, but the idea of fiscal/trade sanctions makes perfect sense to me. The only thing this guy sees is money (and a crown on his head when he looks in the mirror). There will be one heckuva pushback from voters if he bungles this so that prices go up yet again because of his ignorance, incompetence, and arrogance.
You make a ton of great points Randy.
Europe needs to respond thusly…
Ok… we are selling all your bonds…
And we are going off the dollar…
We are no longer doing business with America…
Or with American business…
We will impose the highest tariffs on American goods…
We will be taxing all US business at the maximum rate possible…
Good luck with your deficit…
And your economy…
All great ideas.

Bring it, NATO!! Save us from this scourge! We will help you!
I’m also willing to be attacked by NATO

Exactly!
