A third of our fellow citizens are worried about threats to the racial purity of the Volk. Still gonna try to tell me that they are not Nazis?

It's a shame that so many of our fellow Americans are such hateful racists, but I agree that we can deal with it. The young people seem to be much more comfortable with diversity and that gives me hope. Kamala and Tim will do what they can, and the rest of us people of good will must help out. We can't give in to white supremacists.

So many of us are carrying an outsized load of fear right now, while others have their heads in the sand.

Mark, here's the "good" news. We have always called this country a "melting pot." The first diversity was introduced by the Pilgrims. Before that, there were only Native Americans.

I read an excerpt a few years ago (apparently, I didn't keep it) that said that EVERY immigrant group has been treated the same: accused of being lazy, dirty, criminals, and whatever else. Then, it passes. Donnie's recent forebears were German. He's very disturbed, as are his followers, but this, too, will pass. In Florida, where I live, not only are many people Hispanic, but one of our Senators (Rubio) and at least one of our Representatives (Gimenez) are Cuban. Bizarrely, they're also both Republican, so their anti-immigrant sentiments are against themselves. In my area (Miami) we have Haitian and other electeds. As I said, it all passes. It's just bizarre that it occurs at all. Most large American cities have Chinatowns.

RedFiatSpider, my first Fiat was an 850 and was blue. My second was a 125 or 126 and was red. My Spider was yellow.
